Biomass Feedstocks
Agricultural energy crops
Our fuel pellets can also be used as a bridge technology for developing agricultural energy crops and utilizing agricultural residues that can be difficult to pelletize. Blending these agricultural products with our current fuel mix enables the production of a desirable densified fuel pellet with a high energy content.
As the supply chain for these energy crops grows, the amount of biomass in the pellet content is increased. Current examples of agricultural products being developed includes miscanthus grass and oat hull residues.
In time, we expect there to be a much greater take-up of agricultural by-products for incorporation into the renewable energy supply chain. The biomass industry is increasing year-on-year, using intelligent technology to harness the clean power generation potential in agriculture and pointing to further cohesion in the future across a consolidated supply chain.
